Wilhelm and Marcus had, at Rafen’s order, led the Imperial Army’s Alpha team into a small service lift and stopped amidships to rappel down the service shaft below the lift. Meanwhile,Rafen opened the energy field and saved the remainder of Bravo team. The Tech-Marine, however, decided to use his rifle’s recoil to propel him backwards through the void and fired at a vastly distant Tau starship. The bolts repeatedly detonate against the ship and the Tau retaliate by firing a strange Xenos weapon against whatever small craft is attacking them and manage to hit and critically wound the Techie – all while supercharging his mechanically-enhanced body and suit and blasting him into the Tau capitol ship like a plasma-cased torpedo. The enhanced armor barely saved the Tech-Marine, and the Tau were probably more shocked such a weak weapon damn near crippled the capital ship. As the communications deck at the fore of the ship vented its atmosphere and personnel into space and the bulkheads slammed close, Veren the Techmarine of the Imperial Fists stood, relying on his mag-boots to stay rooted, and smiled. ‘There is no fortress the Imperial Fists cannot destroy,’ said the triumphant Veren over his squad’s vox, ‘and no space the Imperial Fists cannot hold.’
Wilhelm and Marcus had just begun their descent when the Daemon’s mind shredding war-cry echoed through the ship, while the ship simultaneous cried out against its hull being torn through so violently. Klaxons wailed as the two Astartes led the Imperial Army Squadron down the shaft and into the rough maintenance shafts running parallel to the main corridors through the Xenos ship. Rafen, having finished the daemon-beast off quickly set out to load the unconscious soldiers into one of the Tau vehicles, a nearby hover-tank. Squeezed into the pilots’ seats, the Blood Angel Rafen sped down the corridors, hunting his brother Astartes’ vox signals.
Meanwhile Veren of the Imperial Fists decided to utterly decimate his area of the Capital Ship and took to ravaging the entire cavernous rooms of data stations. Little did he expect that in his rampages he would burst through a wall and into the medical bays, scaring several sickened Tau into cardiac arrest. Given his new circumstances, and the patched breach in the next room, Veren merely started the slaughter-filled rampage on Tau spirits and not machine spirits, his servo-arm flinging beds of dying Tau into their surgeons and machines into their crew. Bolter blazing, Veren slaughtered the entire bay, Tau, traitors, machines and all. Grabbing the Chief Medical Officer by his head Veren dismembered and destroyed him with as little effort as ramming the slide forward on his bolter.
